Any old “commodity-grade” shaft for our wedges? We don’t think so!
Other companies sell wedges like commodities, so every wedge in the store is fitted with a very firm, very heavy steel shaft marked “wedge flex”. No choices, no options, no variations. So just what is that “wedge flex shaft”?
Very simply, it’s a shaft that was designed over 25 years ago, it weighs as much as two ounces more than the high-tech graphite shaft you might play in your irons, and it’s stiffer than the iron shafts played by most hard-hitting tour professionals. It can’t possibly improve your touch around the greens.
When we began to build the finest wedges golf had ever seen, we insisted on the best shaft that was available . . . so we opted for the acclaimed Rifle® Spinner®, which was designed specifically to optimize the feel and performance of wedges. The EIDOLON variation on the Spinner® utilizes a specialized flex profile to insure that you get the trajectories you want, and the feel you need for a better short game. And, compared to the generic shaft used by the major brands, it even improves spin.
For 2008, we’ve taken the shaft a step further and developed our own proprietary SCoR™ graphite shaft -- the weight, flex characteristics and performance were designed to optimize short game shotmaking. Our new SCoR™ shaft is the perfect fit for golfers playing graphite or lightweight steel shafts in their irons, or if you just want superior feel in your short game.
And finally, we are committed to fitting our V-SOLE wedges to your game; so whereas the wedges in the store are sold “one size fits all”, we offer both the Rifle® Spinner® and our proprietary SCoR™ graphite shaft in two flexes – Regular and Firm.
Only EIDOLON Golf allows you to match the weight of your wedges to that of your irons, and choose a flex that fits your strength and tempo. If you play graphite or lightweight steel in your irons, we suggest you opt for our SCoR™ graphite shaft. If your irons are fitted with conventional weight steel shafts, the steel Rifle® Spinner® is your choice.
As the only wedge company that will allow you to choose flex, let us offer you some guidance. If your normal 9-iron range is 115 yards or less, we suggest you select the Regular flex. That will give you optimum distance on full swings, and soft feel around the greens. If your swing is stronger than that, we think you’ll find the Firm flex to your liking.
Offering the premium Rifle® Spinner and our own proprietary SCoR™ graphite shaft, both in your choice of flexes, allows you to have your EIDOLON V-SOLE wedges built to give you seamless consistency from your short irons to your wedges. We’re the only wedge company that will help you do that.
